I paint because it makes me feel whole; Art is what completes me.
Making art allows me to express what I can't convey with words. It lets me explore both my creative and spiritual sides that might otherwise remain unexpressed.
So, when I paint, it isn't about creating nice pictures; it's about finding the freedom to express my entire self.
First, I must accept myself, then love myself, and finally, embrace who I am so much that I want to share it with the world.
The article summary:
Diving into the journey of self-discovery through art.
Painting isn't just strokes on canvas; it's my path to wholeness. It's where I discover the unspoken, the sacred. At first, it was a creative escape, a break from overthinking. Then, it became therapy, helping me express emotions I couldn't articulate. But one day, I embraced abstract art, and it unlocked a new world. I let my soul paint. Abstract art is since then my bridge to the supernatural, where spiritual guides whisper wisdom.
When I started painting a long time ago, it was an escape from my rational mind, which seemed imprisoned by thoughts and reasoning. Being creative offered a break.
For quite some time, the creative process was just that: a delightful moment of pure flow.
Later, I discovered it could also be a way to express my emotions, which I struggled to articulate otherwise.
Handling my emotions had never been my strong suit, so having a creative outlet became therapeutic.
To represent the fear I felt on canvas, I had to connect with it, explore its origins, and understand why it persisted in my life. Delving into my subconscious mind became a necessity.
Art gradually became my personal life coach. Honestly, the best one I've ever had (and I've had quite a few, all pretty good).
Until a few months ago, art was primarily about self-exploration, self-expression, and evolving as a human being. That naturally happens when you dig deep within yourself.
Then, one day, I felt the urge to paint abstractly, and that changed everything once again.
Abstract art offers two approaches: applying known design and composition principles or connecting with your soul and allowing it to guide your brush.
Of course, I chose the latter, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life.
Since that first abstract painting, I've felt a strong connection to the Inner World, the Supernatural, and the Spirits residing on different planes of our reality (or consciousness). Soon, they became my spiritual guides.
Artistically, I started learning to let go of form, the need for perfection, and the desire to be understood and appreciated. Instead, I embraced pure and free self-expression.
Spiritually, I opened up to a side of myself I had never connected with before. A side brimming with love, wisdom, peace, gratitude, acceptance, and forgiveness.
The more I painted abstractly, the deeper I delved into myself, but in a new, more profound way.
Previously, I had been exploring and enjoying my human nature. Now, I was exploring and embracing my spiritual side, finally becoming whole.
It's astonishing how much art can bring into our lives, allowing us to connect with and explore facets of ourselves that might otherwise remain hidden!
As for what's next for me, I believe it's to incorporate my entire body into my art. While painting, I want to engage every element of myself: body, mind, and soul.
That would truly be the next level of wholeness!
